TICRAT AZ | SON is a bi-national, hands-on workshop focusing on techniques and strategies for conservation and restorations of buildings constructed of adobe and lime plaster during the Mission Period in Arizona and Sonora.
Specialists in the areas of traditional earthen building skills, preservation and conservation from the United States and Mexico will present sessions on adobe and adobe coatings, documentation, conservation, restoration and preservation, Examples will be offered to participants through presentation of case studies. The sessions will be followed in the field by hands-on restoration activities at Tumacácori, AZ. Similarities and differences between types of earthen building in the two countries will be discussed. |
